Marla Ruth Tomasko

Funeral Services for Marla Ruth Tomasko will be held on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel with Reverend David Wiens officiating. Her family will receive visitors at Reed-Culver on Monday February 22nd, 2021 beginning at 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at I.O.O.F Cemetery in Hulbert, OK, with the Tomasko family. Pallbearers for Marla include Drew Nauman, David Tomasko, Zach Robinson, and Josh Latta. Honorary Pallbearers include Raymond Tomasko.

Marla Ruth Tomasko was born on Thursday, May 27th, 1971 in Oklahoma City, OK, the daughter of Raymond and Suzanne (Horry) Tomasko. Marla grew up with two brothers, David and John. She attended school in Claremore, and it was here she met the man she would later marry, Drew Nauman. She went on to get her Bachelors in Business at Oklahoma Wesleyan University. She earned her living as a Headstart Teacher, working to educate the young. She loved children and helping them to learn the world around them made her very happy. She was the proud mother of four daughters, Jessica, Lindsey, Samantha, and Kenlee. They were her pride and joy, and she never tired of keeping up with all of their activities. Whenever she had a little time on her hands, she loved art, especially painting. She wrote in her journal and kept meticulous records and a spotless house at all times. Sundays were devoted to taking her family to the nearest creek to enjoy a little swimming, sunning and maybe a picnic lunch afterwards. She liked music on the loud side, and constantly listened when at home. She was funny and sweet with just a touch of ornery, and a heart of gold, always willing to help anyone that needed her. She couldn’t wait to get to spend time with her grandchildren, Zoe and Landon, she thought they were the best people on earth. She was the mother, grandmother, sister, and friend we all hoped to share our lives with. The Lord called her home from her labors far too soon on Sunday, February 7th, 2021, in Joplin, MO. Marla was 49 years old and will never be forgotten.

She is preceded in death by a stillborn brother Mark Ray Tomasko.

Those left to cherish her memory include her four daughters, Jessica Peterson of Grove, OK, Lindsey Peterson of Miami, OK, and Samantha and Kenlee Peterson of Chelsea, OK, and two brothers, David Tomasko of Columbus, OH and John Tomasko of Ballingarry, Ireland. She also leaves her parents, Raymond and Suzanne Tomasko, and two grandchildren, Zoe Robinson of Grove, OK and Landon Barnard of Wyandotte, OK as well as a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
