

JAY, OK- Funeral services for Mary Ann Tucker-Hyde will be held on Tuesday, November 27th, 2012 at 10:00 am at Reed-Culver Funeral Home with Pastor Don Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Cemetery in Leach, OK. Services have been entrusted to Reed-Culver Funeral home of Tahlequah, OK.
Pallbearers for Mary include Steve Tyer, Bobby Tucker, Jim Tucker, Scott Larrabee, CD Thompson, and Troy Thompson.
Mary Ann Tucker-Hyde was born on May 26th 1941 in Tahlequah, OK the daughter of Larch Tucker and Lillie (Ketcher) Tucker. Mary Ann grew up in the Tahlequah area and lived here most of her life. She was a Teacher’s Assistant at Oaks School in Oaks, OK. Mary Ann loved working with young minds and sharing a thought or smile with her many students. Mary’s most important job was that of mother and grandmother. Mary raised two sons and one daughter, Terry, Bobby, and Petie. She loved them dearly and was so very proud of their accomplishments. She enjoyed anytime spent attending their functions at school or at various sports. Whenever she had a little spare time, she enjoyed shopping for the perfect bargain or working on homemade blankets and crafts. Her house was clean and tidy and shared with her feline companion, Phoebe. Mary excelled at making comfort foods such as homemade frybread and fried potatoes and beans. She was good natured and sweet, but could demonstrate a stubborn streak when needed. A Lutheran by faith, the Lord called Mary home from her labors on November 21st, 2012 in Jay, OK. Mary was 71 years old. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her mother and father, her eldest son, Terry Tucker, and two brothers, Johnson Tucker and Robert Tucker.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Bobby Tucker of Oaks, OK and daughter, Petie Schwerdtfeger and her husband Jeff of Ponca City, OK. She leaves a sister, Jane Larrabee of Leach, OK. Her legacy lives on in her seven grandchildren, Samuel Tucker, Louisa Tucker, Tyler Tucker, Bronsan Tucker, Jana Tucker, Deana Tucker, and Kay Lynn Tucker, as well as five great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
