Myron or “Bub” as he was affectionately called, grew up in Dry Creek, Oklahoma, where he was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church. He was baptized on December 3, 2000. Myron attended Tahlequah High School, where he shined on the basketball court, earning many accolades and awards before graduating in 1985. He continued his education at Bacone Jr. College before transferring to Northeastern State University, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree. Myron worked in various occupations from industry to education starting with Head Start through High School. He especially enjoyed the times he traveled to work shops and conferences.
Myron was very passionate about basketball and softball. He was a player, a coach, a fan, and a mentor to many. He continued coaching until he was called home. He started his fast pitch career with Dry Creek Men’s team where he taught himself to pitch. He continued playing, pitching and coaching with two of his best teams, the Starters and AO2. His pitching talent led him to play with multiple teams and travel to many states and Canada. These teams included the North Americans, Oklahoma/Kansas All-Stars, Diamond Kings, and Sykos.
Myron loved his kids and family. He enjoyed being able to spend time with them. He was known to give you a nickname and would make you laugh about it. He enjoyed teasing and laughing with his family. Myron’s kids were his world. He loved his “Babydoll” and his “Sonny Boy”. He would do anything for them, even if it meant he went without. Myron was extremely talented, having been known for his beadwork, his meat pies, and his chocolate sheet cake.
He is survived by his parents, Donald Ray and Jean Bolin, of Dry Creek, Oklahoma. Sisters Sharon Bolin-Hayes of Dry Creek, Ok.; Meredith Garay and husband Chalo of Stilwell, OK.; Shaina Dawn Bolin of Gore, OK.; Daughter Casey Washee-Brown and husband Tim of Briggs, OK.; Son Cory Bolin of Tahlequah, OK. Twelve nieces and nephews, nine great nieces and nephews and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral Services for Myron will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Dry Creek Community Building in Bunch, OK with Brother Gil Dean Hooper officiating. He will be laid to rest at Barber Cemetery in Welling, OK.
Pallbearers for Myron will be Everett Bolin, Edward Bolin, Gilbert Bolin, Ricky Jones, Steve Jones, Anthony Pritchett, and Tim Washee-Brown.
Honorary pallbearers include Tony Stayathome, Rudy Dale Bolin, Mateo Garay, Victor Olvera, Stuart Polk, David Walkingstick, and Billy Flint.
A wake service will take place on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 beginning at 6:00pm at the Dry Creek Community Building in Bunch, OK.
