Mary Norma Jean Bunch was born on March 15th, 1934 in Choska Bottom,OK, the daughter of Raymond and Vallie Neva (Kirk) Edwards-Barnes. She grew up in a household with three brothers and one sister, Milford “Buck”, Billy, Johnny, and Crystal. She grew up and graduated from school. She was always wanting to start a family, and she met and married the love of her life, James Woodard Bunch in Muskogee on March 28th, 1952. They raised a family of four sons and three daughters, Randy, Rick, Robert, Mitchell, Kelly, Bonnie and Shannon. There was nothing she loved more than caring for her husband and children, later on, her grandchildren. She raised her family first and foremost on love, second on behaving themselves and lastly on enjoying family life to the fullest. She was Ornery, having a wicked sense of humor and loving every chance to use it on the kids. She was the constant at everyone’s games, always cheering them on, braiding the hair for the basketball team. Her time in the kitchen fed her family and her neighbors as well as anyone else at the table needing a hot meal. She was a “Mom” to everyone, always listening to their problems and giving them the wisdom of her advice. Needing a place to sleep? She would offer whatever the family had to share with those at the door. Whenever there was a little spare time from basketball, football, baseball, and every other sport, she liked to go dancing. She was sweet, kind and loving no matter the circumstances. The Lord called this hard working woman home from her many labors on July 13th, 2022 at her home, surrounded by those who loved her. She was 88 years old and will never be forgotten.
Her grandparents, her mother and father, her husband James in 2006, two brothers, Milford “Buck” Edwards and Johnny Barnes, and her sister, Crystal Ball, precede her in death.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Randy Bunch and wife Brenda of Checotah, Rick Bunch of Tahlequah, Robert Bunch and wife Len of Okmulgee, Mitchell Bunch and wife Dawn of Broken Arrow, Kelly McNac and husband Herman of Council Hill, OK, Bonnie Burchett and husband Woody of Tahlequah, and Shannon Gage of Tulsa, OK.
