Randy "Ome" Caviness

Randy J. Caviness, affectionately known as “Ome”, was born July 10, 1957 in Bartlesville, OK, the son of JD and Verna Kay (Duffield) Caviness. Randy was the middle child among five boys, growing up alongside his brothers Larry, Mike, Rickie, and Steven. He graduated from Hissom High School in the Tulsa area and carried with him a lifetime of simple joys and a deep love for family.

A true country boy at heart, Randy enjoyed fishing, playing bowling video games on his Wii, and spending time playing games like dominoes and marbles. He was a fan of old television classics, including Gunsmoke, The Beverly Hillbillies, and Green Acres. Known for his sense of humor, Randy loved to joke around and brought laughter to those around him.

Randy had a special place in his heart for his dogs, especially his beloved big dog, Kramer. He cherished time spent at home, often sharing moments with his youngest brother, Stevie, helping around the house and enjoying the comfort of family life. He also looked forward to Kim’s cinnamon oatmeal, one of his favorite simple pleasures.

Randy will be remembered as one of a kind—a man who loved deeply, laughed often, and lived life in his own genuine way. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, JD and Verna Caviness, one brother, Mike Caviness and nephew, Joseph “Jo Jo” Caviness.

Those left to remember him include his brothers, Larry Caviness and companion Vickie of Tahlequah, OK, Rickie Caviness and wife Joann of Briggs, OK and Steven Caviness and wife Kim of Stilwell, OK. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews and a host of friends and loved ones.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 2:00pm at Reed-Culver Chapel with Sis. Alaina Owen-Harris officiating. He will be laid to rest at Caney Cemetery.

Those serving as pallbearers include Jason Caviness, Ricky Caviness, Jesse Smith, James Sanders, Pat A** hole, Jimmy Matlock, and Brandon Matlock.
