Graveside services for Henry Elmo Ricky Tillman, or Ricky to his friends, will be held on Saturday, August 26th, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Park Hill Cemetery in Park Hill, OK, with Pastor Tommy Honeycutt of First Freewill Baptist Church of Ft. Gibson officiating. Online condolences for his family may be left at www.reedculver.com.
Ricky Tillman was born on April 18th, 1949 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Elmo Edmond and Mary Nola (Jackson) Tillman. He was kept in line at home by four sisters, Arlene, Marsha, Joyce, and Genell. He graduated in 1967 from Hulbert High School. He tried his hand at working the pipeline, then moved up to cross country trucking, hauling cattle across the United States. Locally he would truck for Whitlock out of Ft. Gibson. He loved the Rodeo and really knew his business on horses, especially his best friend, Smokey. When he was younger, Ricky loved any time spent with the grandparents, Albert Henry and S. Rethey Tillman and Elmer and Bertha Jackson. The country life was just fine for Ricky, keep it simple and keep it honest. He adored any chance he had with his family, and always had a joke to play or kids to tease. Free time was spent with his 1977 Nova hotrod or his motorcycle. Ricky loved killing time tinkering with engines. He was kind and generous, always ready to put a smile on our face. A Christian by faith, Ricky attended First Freewill Baptist Church, and enjoyed time spent with his church family. His health began to fail him and he moved into the Ft. Gibson Nursing Home where he continued to keep everyone chuckling over his” Y’ea boy” heard coming down the hall. The Lord called this good and faithful servant home from his labors on Sunday, August 20th, 2017 at Ft. Gibson at the age of 68 years. He will be greatly missed.
Ricky is preceded in death by his mother, father, and grandparents.
Those left to cherish his memory include his four sisters, Arlene Luton and husband Allen of Washington, Marsha Reppond and husband Dennis of Muskogee, Joyce Huggins and Jim of Ft. Gibson and Genell Nicolas and husband Mike of Coweta. He leaves his son, Ricky Elmo Tillman of Tulsa and two grandchildren, Tyler Tillman of Collinsville and Lacey Bean of Muskogee, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
