

Tahlequah, OK- Funeral services for Robert Allen Hair will be held on Saturday, August 11th, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Reed-Culver Chapel in Tahlequah with Pastor Billy Holcomb officiating.
Pallbearers for Robert include Ty Hair, Jerry Hummingbird, Brian Hair, Darrell Amerson, Billy Jack Baldwin, and Harley Hair.
Robert Allen Hair, or “Chief” to his friends and family, was born on November 11th, 1941 in Colcord, Oklahoma the son of George Allen and Agnes Louise (Sunday) Hair. He attended school in Ceres, CA. He met and married his wife in Long beach, CA. When he was 18 years old, Chief enlisted in the United States Navy. He served until his honorable discharge on December 3rd, 1962. Chief decided to make Law Enforcement his career choice in life. He served all those who came to him for help, advice or protection without criticizing or belittling anyone entrusted to his care. When he wasn’t working, Chief was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Vets and Paralyzed American Vets. He served the clients who had fallen astray of the law by offering his services as a Native Spiritual Advisor. He loved an afternoon spent hunting, especially deer. He was fond of motorcycles and rode whenever he got the chance. Once he retired from Law Enforcement, he opened his own welding shop, “Cherokee Welding”. He was a leather craftsman and made beautiful belts, Scottish attire and drums. He enjoyed country music and was the manager of the band ”Spontaneous Looking Glass”. Chief was blessed with a wonderful smile and a great sense of humor. He was caring and concerned and worked tirelessly to make the community around him a wonderful place to raise his three children, Rhonda, Lynette, and Ty. His children were his pride and joy. Chief was a Christian by faith, and lived by the example he read. He experienced health issues that later made it difficult for him to get around. He managed a smile for his family and continued to take interest in all they accomplished until his passing on August 8th, 2012 .He leaves a legacy of love, caring, and laughing through it all. He will be greatly missed by his many family and friends both here and in California as well. Robert was 70 years old.
Chief is preceded in death by his mother, father, one son, Travis Lee Hair, his first wife, Lorene Jane Poulson, two brothers, Herman and Freddie Joe Hair, and one nephew, Jeffrey Louis Baldwin.
Those left to cherish his memory include his three children, Ronda April Hair , Lynette Jane Lara and husband Daniel Lara, and Ty Granville Hair all of Ceres, CA. He leaves two sisters, Norma Jean Baldwin-Sherill of Ceres, CA and Freida Jean Hair of Salida, CA. His Uncle is Henry Lee and wife Mary Sunday of Claremore, OK. Chief’s legacy lives on in his eight grandchildren, Danielle Cathy Lara, Christina Lorene Cliff and husband Ty, Sheryl Lynette Lara, Destiny Danielle Lara, Christopher Dean Delfino. Anthony Lee Hunter, Travis Gary Thunderhawk Hair, and Tyjiana Haley Snowdove Hair. His three adored great grandchildren include Jeremiah Halo Ryder Candia, Trinity Nevaeh Walela Candia, and Vincent Allen Cliff, a special nephew, Brian Hair and a cousin, Darlene Hummingbird as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
