Robert "Bob" Hazelwood

Robert (Bob) Hazelwood, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. Bob was born in Falls City, Nebraska on October 3, 1936 to Roy and Winnifred (Rowland) Hazelwood. He was the third child of four born to this union. Bob's three sisters were Myrna, Gwena and Sharon. Bob spent his childhood years in Falls City, NE. At the age of 18, Bob enlisted in the Air Force. He served a total of 3 year, 7 months and 13 days. In July 1961, Bob married Marilyn Ziegler. The two shared three children, Jacqueline, Todd, and Jody. Bob, Marilyn and their three children made many moves over the next few years managing ranches across Nebraska, Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Unfortunately, in March 1973, Marilyn passed away at their home in Springdale, AR leaving Bob with their three small children. In November 1973, Bob married Eunia (Faye) Norman. In true cowboy fashion, Bob and Faye made many moves over the years managing large ranches across Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas. Bob was well known by many for his leatherwork, braiding, horse training and working teams of horses. Bob and Faye remained married for 48 years until Faye passed away in July 2021.

Bob is survived by his sister, Myrna Nixon; children, Todd Hazelwood of Oklahoma, Jacque Fender and husband Dennis of Nevada, and Jody Edmondson and husband Steve of Nebraska; eight grandchildren, Casey Fender and wife, Zoe of Nevada, Whitney Fender-McLemons and husband, RJ of Nevada, Michelle Sterling and husband, Thomas of Oklahoma, Melanie Todd and husband, Dusty of Oklahoma, Collin Crouch of Texas, Haleigh Russell and husband, Chris of Nebraska, Nick Rainwater and wife, Taylor of Oklahoma, and Drew Rainwater of Oklahoma.

Bob was the proud "papaw" to 21 great grandchildren, Finley, Liam, Merrick, Parker, Sutton, Cohen, Hayes, Cade, Piper, Ryan, Lettie, Owen, Ryker, Jase, Crew, Charleigh, Cade, Westley, Stevie, Maggie, and CJ.

A funeral service for Bob will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Exciting Southeast Baptist Church, 13289 State Highway 82, Tahlequah, Oklahoma 74464. Bob will be laid to rest in Bloomfield Cemetery, Bloomfield, Nebraska.
