Ruth Jane Little-Carlson was born on July 2, 1925 in McAlester, OK, the daughter of John Edgar and Celia Mabel (Haynes) Little. Due to her fathers work with oil land and real estate abstracting, the family moved a great deal when she was young. She grew up with three brothers and two sisters. Ruth then attended and graduated from Duncan High School after changing schools many times. After Duncan they moved to Medford, Oklahoma where she met and married Lee R. Mowbray who was an entrepreneurs, farmer and land developer in the USA and Belize, British Honduras. Because of her husband Lee’s move to Belize she moved with her Daughter Dana to Hialeah, Florida. She began her career with L.H. Anderson Abstract Company in Medford, Oklahoma and eventually became Office Manager for Citgo Petroleum in Tulsa, OK after coming back from Hialeah, Florida. She was first and foremost a very loving, kind, dedicated and generous daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She adored her family and followed all their activities as their biggest supporter. She had a servants heart, and served her Lord and Savior as a Sunday School teacher at Medford First Baptist Church. She was gifted with being meticulous, organized and had a head for business. She made it her personal mission to make sure every member of the family received Christmas and birthday cards, so she could keep up with their busy lives. When she had a little free time, she enjoyed making ceramics, working in Eastern Star, driving golf carts for the PGA tour whenever it came to Tulsa, golfing with her friends at the Bartlesville Country Club. After retirement she enjoyed traveling around the countryside. Her daily devotional was filled with notes on each new days location and all the wonderful sights she had experienced while traveling in their motor home with Ken Rathman. She found she enjoyed winters in Florida and occasional trips to California, Northern America and Canada. She loved to be around people and had an easy going nature that made her a delight to talk with. She walked with the Lord daily, read her Bible and was a prayer warrior for all her family and friends. She was a Baptist by faith and attended Southern Hills Baptist Church Seniors Group, she loved all the activities they did together. She was so very happy when her family found the time to gather and to share the stories and the memories of all those she loved so dearly. She grew tired and the Lord called this good and faithful servant home from her labors on January 9th, 2018 in Tulsa, OK with her loved ones gathered close to her side. She was 92 years young. She will be greatly missed for all the love she shared and the happiness she gave by just being “Ma Jane.”
