

Shirley Jordan-Swagerty, of Tahlequah, was born January 4, 1949 in Madesto, California the daughter of Arthur and Joan (Sherman) Jordan. She was raised in North Eastern Oklahoma attending and graduating from the Little Kansas Public school. While Shirley was in high school, she began selling Avon to her family and friends. On October 18, 1978 Shirley married Bill Swagerty, the love of her life, and together they raised their family in the Tahlequah, OK. area making a home in the community of Scraper, OK. Shirley and her mother owned and operated the “Mode-O-Day" dress shop in Tahlequah until 1980 and then she began working at Wal-Mart where she dearly loved her fellow workers as family. She was a member of the Scraper Christian Church. Shirley was called to her eternal rest on August 29, 2011 at the age of 62 and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Bill of the home, her two sons, John Conrad of Scraper, OK., and Josh Swagerty and his wife Kaily of Scraper, OK., Her parents Arthur and Jaon Jordan of Scraper, OK., a brother Wayne Jordan and his wife Anne of Scraper, OK., 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
