

Virgil Dix “Butch” Williamson, Jr. was born July 13, 1961 in San Francisco, CA, the son of Virgil Dix Sr. and Frances Kay (Mankiller) Willingham. He attended Jefferson High School in Daily City, CA. He worked for Cherokee Nation in maintenance but photography was his passion.
He enjoyed spending time with the wind in his hair on the back of any motorcycle he could get his hands on, sitting on the couch lost in his favorite esp or adventure novel, or trying to hit it big at the casino. Virgil never met a stranger always making friends with anyone he met giving his time and talent to make people smile. He enjoyed blues music and was an avid bowler and bowled in a league. Virgil spent a lot of his time taking photos and collecting cameras he was very proud of his art form. More than anything he was proud of his children and would never miss the chance to spend time with family.
Virgil is preceded in death by his grandmother, Rose Takesgun, grandfathers, Dexter Williamson, and Charley Mankiller, father, Virgil Williamson Sr., step father, Robert Willingham, four sisters, Virgileen Williamson, Virginette Williamson, Virginia Williamson and Virjane Fairbanks, eight uncles, Johnny Mankiller, Robert Mankiller, Richard Mankiller and William Mankiller, Aloysius Caplett, Albert Caplett, Tim Rondeau Sr, and Garland Williamson, seven aunts, Frieda Mullins, Wilma Mankiller, Vanessa Mankiller, Linda Mankiller Sanchez, Katherine Stops, Ada Horn and Maude Williamson and one nephew, Brandon Little Owl, Sr.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Frances Kay Willingham, grandmother Clara Irene Mankiller of Stilwell, OK one son, Virgil Brandon Williamson of Alameda, CA, two daughters, Patti Jane Gerberding and Jenny Rose Williamson both of Phoenix, AR, one brother, Vernon Williamson of Stilwell, OK, one half-brother, Desmond Williamson and three sisters, Virjama Williamson of lodge Grass, MT, Virlee Williamson of Rogers, AR and Virna Williamson of Sallisaw, OK, four uncles, James Mankiller an wife Lula, Don Mankiller and wife LaVena, Ivan Morning and Frand Caplett, six aunts, Lou Old Coyote, Annie Jane Stops, Colleen Caplett, Lavern Big Hair, Olive Williamson and Senora Williamson as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of friends and loved ones.
