William Patrick "Pat" Terrapin

William Patrick Terrapin, or Pat as his family and friends call him, was born on July 3rd, 1964, in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Gary Ryals and Callie Terrapin. He grew up in a household with his sister Jennie and his brother, Archie and attended Tahlequah High School. When it came to working, Pat was a multi-talented man. He was a self-taught auto mechanic, diesel mechanic, carpenter, lineman, and truck driver for JB Hunt. On January 7th, 2011, he married Teresa Jean Walkabout in Eureka Springs, AR. Pat was papa to eight children, Bradley, Andrew, Justin, Patrick, Angel, Cody and Steven, and Jennifer. Pat liked getting up in the morning to make breakfast, and he made the best biscuits and gravy. Then it was off to fix a car, tinker with an engine or alter an electronic gizmo of some sort. It didn’t matter, Pat could make it run! His music would be blaring away and he was listening to Kid Rock or AC/DC. He loved to spend his spare time hunting, fishing, and was considered quite knowledgeable on traditional plants such as mushrooms, watercress, wild onions and polk salad. He liked to travel by train and couldn’t wait to go to Colorado, it was a favorite spot. He didn’t belong to any clubs as he was busy enjoying his family and working on a car. Pat passed too soon from this life on Sunday, August 14th, 2016 in an automobile accident. He was 52 years old. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

He has gone on to join his father, Gary Ryals, his grandparents, William and Opal Ryals, his aunt, Lena McClain, uncle, Lee Terrapin, grandparents, Willie and Jennie (Christie) Terrapin, two aunts, Elsie Ryals and Janola Kindle and three uncles, Huey, William and Junior Ryals, as well as many cousins and family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Teresa Walkabout of Tahlequah, OK, his mother, Callie Terrapin of Tahlequah, OK, and his adored children, Bradly Wayne Terrapin of OKC, Andrew Tyler Terrapin of Edmond, OK, Justin William Terrapin of Tulsa, OK, Patrick Lee Carlile and companion Matthew of Tulsa, OK, Angel Danielle Terrapin of Tulsa, OK and William Cody and twin, Steven Michael Terrapin of Tahlequah, OK, and Jennifer Mae Terrapin of Tahlequah, OK. He leaves one sister and one brother, Jennie Mae Terrapin and Archie Lee Terrapin both of Tahlequah, OK. Pat also leaves many half brothers and sisters, four grandchildren, one aunt, Dollie Jones of Stilwell, OK, and one uncle, Robert Ryals, as well as many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
