Willie “Bill” Lee Myres was born on December 17th, 1935 in Eldon, Ok, the son of James Commador and Annie Alva (Perry) Myres. He was raised in a home with four brothers and two sisters. When he finished votech school, he was enlisted into the United States Air Force and served in the capacity of military police officer, serving two tours of duty. It was while serving as a guard that he traveled the world guarding the Presidents plane, going to Greenland, England, Texas and Nebraska. Upon his honorable discharge, he began his life long occupation as a heavy equipment operator and diesel mechanic. He married the love of his life and his best friend, Betty Loftin, on January 5th, 1954 in Tahlequah, OK, and together they raised a family of one son and one daughter, Lee Steven and Sherrie. They met when he passed her on the sidewalk and asked her where she was going. She stated she was headed to the movies and he said he would go with her, and had spent the last 63 years with the girl of his dreams. Any time he wasn’t working he was in the great outdoors, camping and fishing, or just chasing his grandchildren around all day. He was blessed with a great sense of humor and the teasing was plentiful when his grandchildren were at the house. There was nothing better than relaxing at home, tinkering in his shop and taking things apart, and then assembling them again. He never tired of having his family around him, he adored every grandchild and nephew that came to the house. He liked a little quiet time at home working on his coin collecting and listening to his many records of old county and rock favorites, especially Johnny Cash. Watching the sunset on his home place with those around him made Bill a truly happy and grateful man. His health began to fail him and he passed from this life on Friday, October 27th, 2017 at his home. Bill was 81 years old. He will be greatly missed.
Bill is preceded in death by his mother, father, one brother, Dick Myres, and one sister-in-law, Thelma Myres of Briggs, OK.

He leaves three brothers, Tommy Myres and wife Bessie of Wichita, KS, Willard Myres of Briggs, OK, and Denver Spears and wife Donna of Tahlequah, OK.
