Alexis Victoria Overstreet, 25, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital on Thursday, April 12, 2018, after complications resulting from a stroke. Alexis was born in Tallahassee to James and Teresa Barrs on April 29, 1992.
Alexis loved her job at Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic in the billing and coding department which she began in July of 2015. Her coworkers meant the world to her, and she was incredibly proud of her community service work with the company.
She was an avid and immensely talented designer with a real passion for home décor and jewelry. Alexis was also an amazingly dedicated and integral member of her congregation at Generations Church where she served extensively in both the women’s and children’s ministries.
Alexis received her Associate of Arts degree from Marion Military Institute in Marion, Alabama, after being awarded an athletic scholarship for her prowess as a softball player at Lawton Chiles high school in Tallahassee.
Most of all, she was a devoted wife and mother with a singular dedication to her family. A fierce friend, she gave selflessly of her time and talent while always putting others first. That’s the legacy she leaves behind.
Alexis is survived by her husband, Ryan; their three children, Castle, Berlyn, and Gates; her parents, James and Teresa Barrs; her brothers, Mason Bullington (Krystine) and James “Buddy” Barrs (Tammy); her grandfather, Grady Bullington; her in-laws, Tom and Diane Overstreet; and a nearly innumerable host of family and friends that will never forget her.
Visitation will be at 9:30 am on Monday, April 16, 2018, at Generations Church with the service to follow at 11:00 am. The facility is located at 3080 W Tennessee St., Tallahassee, FL 32304.
