Allen Eugene Porter

Today the world mourns the loss of Allen Eugene Porter, born October 30, 1950, in Marianna, Florida. He was the beloved husband of Nancy Porter, father of Derek Porter (Joanie) and Stephen Dwane Cox (Erin), and grandfather of Macie and Halie Porter.

Allen passed away peacefully on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare.

Allen was a man of many passions. He was a devoted employee of the City of Tallahassee, where he worked as a lineman for over 30 years. He also had a great love of the outdoors, and enjoyed fishing, camping in his RV, and riding around the neighborhood on his golf cart. He was an avid fan of the Florida State Seminoles, and he always had a smile on his face when watching them play.

He was a kind and generous man, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a loyal friend and a devoted family man, always putting others before himself. He was a true gentleman, with a heart of gold and a love of life that was contagious.

Those who knew Allen will remember him as a man of integrity, with a strong work ethic and a deep love for his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 5-7pm at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home Riggins Road Chapel. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 2pm at the funeral home.

Allen will be remembered and cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. May he rest in peace.
