

Mandy was a devoted father, grandfather, and community member who touched the lives of many with his generosity, wisdom, and zest for life; he was a man of principle, and good-humored with a sunny disposition. He was proud of his heritage and enjoyed attending cultural events and activities, especially when they involved Filipino food.
He is survived by his son, Arthur Escueta of Nashville, TN; and his daughter, Theresa Estrera (Woody); as well as his grandchildren Regina (23), Allison (20), and Jake (19), of whom he was immensely proud. Mandy was preceded in death by his son, Joel Escueta (Rachel), and his beloved wife, Angela Vilar Escueta, whose passing inspired him to learn new skills and embrace life with positivity and resilience.
Mandy retired in 2002 as a Staff Accountant from the Department of Financial Services in Tallahassee, FL. Before moving to Tallahassee in 1987, he worked as an auditor with the Department of General Services in Nashville, TN. He earned his Bachelor of Communication Science degree from San Beda College in the Philippines, majoring in Banking and Finance in 1962 and Accounting in 1964. Prior to immigrating to the United States, Mandy served as a Branch Manager at the Philippine Veterans Bank. He later joined the Becker CPA review course in Nashville, TN, in 1982.
A dedicated community member, Mandy was actively involved in various organizations. He was a member of the Rotary Club in the Philippines and the Knights of Columbus Council #7380 in Marianna, FL. He served as the past president of the Big Bend Filipino American Association, Inc. from 1992 to 1993 and was the secretary of the Lions Club International in Murfreesboro, TN.
Mandy was also an avid golfer, playing at Killearn Golf Country Club and Hilaman Country Club in the early 1990s. Mandy had a deep love for music, playing the piano by ear and studying guitar and violin in his 60s. He enjoyed dancing, karaoke, gardening, and keeping up with technology, often learning from his Gen Z grandchildren. He was a man of faith, attending Good Shepherd Catholic Church and St. Angela Merici Catholic Church in Missouri, TX, where he was a member of the That Man is You Program. Mandy’s life was a testament to resilience, positivity, and faith. He believed in staying optimistic and trusting in God’s guidance and protection.
Visitation will be on Saturday November 15, 2025 at 10 am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 4665 Thomasville Road, with Funeral Mass beginning at 11am. Burial will follow at MeadowWood Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Road with a reception immediately following the burial.

Mandy will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
