

She was born to parents Albert A. and Thelma C. (nee Grefseng) Mize in Birmingham, Alabama on February 20, 1930.
On March 3, 1950, she married Krumly H. Hart, USMC in Birmingham and then traveled between North Carolina, California and then Florida until he retired in 1965. Betty worked for the state of Florida for more than 40 years in the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation in Tampa, Orlando and finally Tallahassee where they finally settled in 1973.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, James A. Mize; sisters-in-law, Margie Mize, Jimmie Lee Mize and Sherry Mize; and granddaughter Shannon C. Murdorf.
She is survived by a sister, Merry B. Ash (Gerald); two brothers, Kenneth G. Mize and Clifton Ray Mize; daughter, Cheryl L. Woods (Richard); son, Kit H. Hart (Lita); daughter, Wendy C. Hart; granddaughters, Whitney E. Bouknight (Alexander), Holly C. Woods (Jacob Beizer) and Courtney A. Woods; grandson, Kyle Hart (Emmalee); five great-granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life is being held in her honor on April 30, 2025 at the Eagle’s Nest restaurant at Blackwater at 1:00 pm, 4927 Antioch Rd, Crestview, Florida 32536.
