I have several pictures that involve memories with him but this is my favorite of him. I couldn't decide which of these to get and Brian being Brian decided to help me take a picture and attempted to hide his face but you can just barely see him back there smiling. He was talky laughing at me because I couldn't make up my mind. He later laughed even harder when I just said fine I'll get both.

Brian was a gentleman who made the things he loved more accessible to everyone. He was smart, funny and decent, and ran a fine shop as well as being a notable gamer in his own right. He'll be missed.

Rest in Peace. Thank you so much for all you did to build community and make people feel welcomed in your shop.

We still talk about Brian and the shop all the time. There's a giant hole in our lives and our hearts now that he's gone. We miss you Brian!

It's very hard to find the words. It was your confidence in me that made me pursue my passions today. You always went out of your way to make everyone feel included and that's something I will do my best to carry on in your memory. I'll always remember the millions of hours we spent joking and laughing while sorting all those comic books. Miss you, friend.

I am saddened by Brian's passing. I have known the Jacoby family since I was a young girl and James and I were neighborhoods in Springtree Meadows Apartments

I started going to Secret Headquarters in 2012 when I was only 14 years old, and from day one I always felt instantly welcomed and at home almost in his shop. He by far and away ran that shop better than any other one in Tallahassee. He was a true fan of anything comic book related. Walking in and seeing him play City of Heroes with his young daughter was one of many examples of his passion towards the material. He will always be missed.

RIP my friend. God bless you and your family.

I can't tell you how many times over the past year, particularly due to changes in my life, that I have missed Brian.  I even saw a young girl yesterday and thought of Fiona.  I don't think I will ever forget Brian.

Brian.  You were a good son and a good father you are missed.

Too soon, too soon.  I remember a guy with a good, honest, and open heart. A loving Father, a son for whom his Mother's love never faltered, a brother and a focus on life of his own.

He will be and is missed by so many of us.

My memories of Brian are of a beautiful, sweet boy with a gentle way about him. I heard what people said about him after his untimely and tragic death that broke all our hearts. That he was a man who loved his clients and his carefully constructed business. Who created a haven for those who loved what he loved, and who came to his place of business and purchased his wares and hung out with him. He welcomed clients as friends, they said. And it didn't surprise me. He was an original, as a child and as a man. A loving, quiet but entertaining fellow who I now wish I'd known better as his aunt married to his uncle Bob. We loved him as a member of our family and will miss him always.

11-27-15: Today marks 6 months of Brian's passing.  I think of you constantly & your brother, James, & I will never get over losing you too soon.  I love you as ever, & forever.  Rest in peace sweet boy.

I just found out about the sad news. He was a genuinely cool guy - loved chatting about all things, mostly comics related with him- he told me about the then upcoming Daredevil series on Netflix - he was my source of info & material. Like a comics professor.  Dang, this is a sad loss.

I only recently learned of this tragedy. Brian was a great man who ran a cool and fun comic shop, and my condolences to all of his family. He will be missed.

I stopped by the store a few times over the past week and noted the "closed sign," blocked windows, etc.  I had no idea until today what happened.  Brian always had time to converse with his customers, and I will greatly miss his cynical wit and movie reviews (Yes, the last Superman movie did indeed suck).  And lest I forget: Best. Comic. Store. Ever.

I met Brian and Sara in the early 90s when we all worked at the same department store in South Florida.  I loved Brian instantly and considered him to be part of the family.  Brian was also a good friend  to my son, Caleb Kozla.  I can't believe we have lost such a good person so early in his life.  Much love to his family.

I was very sad to hear about Brian's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family. Brian was an indelible part of the Tallahassee community. His presence will be missed by all that met him.

Brian was a good friend.  I am honestly still very shocked that he's gone; I keep catching myself thinking that I'll be able to talk to him about X, Y, or Z, next time I go into the shop.

He was funny, sometimes irascible, and introduced me to a lot of books and games that have made my life more interesting.  You have my sincerest condolences, as I imagine my shock at his sudden absence is only the tiniest fraction of what you must be feeling.  

Brian, we will miss you very much. Hope you're rolling critical hits in heaven right now.
