Every so often, the Lord takes a young person to Heaven and it just makes you wonder if the folks on the other side needed a soul with a wild side to shake things up. That’s certainly the case with Christopher Michael Kelly, who began enjoying his spiritual life on February 24, 2015, as the result of complications from a brain hemorrhage.
Christopher was born in Tallahassee on August 29, 1984. He worked in the hospitality industry, and was planning to return to college to complete his degree. He loved to garden and entertain his family and friends. Christopher was a loyal friend and was always the center of attention.
He is survived by his parents, Michael Kelly and Donna K. and Keith E. Veitinger, all of Tallahassee, FL; his grandmother Joyce Veitinger of Panama City, FL; his brother Rev. Kevin Veitinger (Ginger) of Savannah, GA; his nephew, Jordan Veitinger and niece, Sydney Veitinger, both of Savannah, GA; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. Christopher was also loved by many neighbors and friends.
Christopher is also survived by his Aunt, Karen & Richard Lyon, and his Uncles, John & Sallie Kelly, and Joseph "Danny" & Angela Kelly. The Kelly family also has many nieces and nephews, and a large extended "Seminole" fan family as well. A special thanks to the many close friends that came to visit and sit with Chris in the hospital over the past 34 days.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30am, Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Blessed Sacrament Church (624 Miccosukee Rd., Tallahassee). A private service for members of the immediate family will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Blessed Sacrament Church in Christopher’s name, or to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation, 269 Hanover St., Bldg. 3, Hanover, MA 02339; www.bafound.org.
