He was the son of the late, Peter John Drury and Margaret Mary (Onimus) Drury. He was born on June 2, 1952 and grew up in Paducah, KY, graduating from St. Mary’s High School in 1970.
David is a University of Kentucky graduate, majoring in history and political science as well as mechanical engineering. He received his MBA from the University of Cincinnati.
His hobbies included traveling with his wife and his Corvettes were his pride and joy; one canary yellow and one Kentucky Wildcat blue. David spent a considerable amount of time at Hobby Town in order to build his many model battleships, including a scale model of the Arizona. He also had a collection of Lionel Trains.
He was married to Margie Starlin on February 14, 1999 in Key West, FL.
David is survived by his wife of 22 years; daughters, Dacia of Riverview, FL and Davina (Kevin) of Cincinnati, OH; stepdaughter, Lori Rainey of Tallahassee, FL; his beloved mother-in-law; sister, Donna Bachuss of Paducah, KY; as well as a niece and nephew; and his fur babies, Leo and Whiskers.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Rd, 32312. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM followed by a graveside service and a reception.
