David Allan Wright

David Wright, aged 68, of Tallahassee, formerly of Ft. Myers, passed away unexpectedly on May 5, 2026. David is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia; his cherished son, Adam; his grandsons Simon and Elliot, his sister Kimberly, his brothers Daniel and Lawrence, and many other family members and friends. David was a graduate of Edison College, where he earned his associates of arts, and of New College Florida where he earned a bachelor's degree in physics. David spent his career enriching the minds of the youth, teaching “the language of physics” and math at various high schools in California, Pennsylvania, and Florida, including most recently at Lincoln High. He possessed a life-long passion for knowledge, seeking to expand the bounds of understanding by pursuing physics in his leisure time. He was also a talented artist, working primarily in the abstract with paint, creating many interesting and meaningful works displayed in local shows. David, above all, was a dedicated husband and proud father who doted on his family, seeking always to be lovingly present. He will be missed by all who knew him. Services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at the Tallahassee Memory Gardens, 4037 N. Monroe St., Tallahassee, FL 32303.
