Dempsey Andrews, 80, of Tallahassee died Saturday (3/12) at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. A native of Recovery, GA, he has lived in the area all his life and relocated to Tallahassee in 1953. Dempsey was an electrician and owned Andrews Electric Company in Tallahassee for many years. A protestant he was a veteran of the US Army and remained involved with the National Guard in Tallahassee. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and also raced throughout north Florida and southern Georgia and was also active with the Florida Trail Riders. He was an accomplished water skier and was well known for his trick skiing abilities. Everyone who knew him enjoyed his great sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years: Patricia Sever; daughter: Rhonda (Rod) Carroll of Crawfordville; sister: Thelma Swing of Live Oak; and two grandsons: Ryan (Alex) and Chris (Lauren) Carroll; and one great-granddaughter: Lila.
