Denise Marie Kellow-Walsh

Denise, 42, died September 15, 2012 in Tallahassee.

Denise was born in Howell, Michigan on November 8, 1969 to Earl and Dorothy Kellow. She was raised in Tallahassee, Florida and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1988. Denise graduated from Tallahassee Community College with an Associate of Arts Degree.

Denise is survived by her daughter, Madeline Walsh (11); her parents, Earl and Dorothy Kellow; sister, Kimberly Barlowe (Doug); niece, Sydney Barlowe (7); and brother, Eric Kellow, all of Tallahassee. She is also survived by her maternal grandfather, Lowell Heideman (Papa), Brighton MI; aunts, Linda Potter (Ray), Brighton, MI, Gayle Heideman, Tallahassee, Andrea Henderson (Randy), Morris, GA , Lisa Krips (Tom), Plantation, FL; uncles, Larry Wood (Linda), Wixom, MI and Robert Kellow, Marianna, FL; and three nieces, a nephew, and numerous cousins. Also surviving is her former husband, Michael Walsh of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Gertrude and Bob Kellow and maternal grandmother, Marian Heideman.

As a teenager, Denise was a principal ballerina for the Tallahassee Ballet Company, having various parts in their productions, including the annual Nutcracker Suite. Denise was an accomplished artist with her oil paintings displayed in California, St. Thomas, USVI, and Tallahassee. She was a member of East Hill Baptist Church in Tallahassee.

The visitation will be held on September 17 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home on Riggins Road, in Tallahassee. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 18 in the Sanctuary at East Hill Baptist Church, 912 Miccosukee Road, Tallahassee. Graveside Services will be held at Culley's MeadowWood on Timberlane Road in Tallahassee.

Arrangements are under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Florida.
