

Doris Ann Akridge Willis, 86, passed away October 26, 2016 at her home on Centerville Road where she had lived for 68 years. Doris Ann was born June 19, 1930 in Thomasville, Georgia. She was the daughter of Robert Hansell Akridge and wife Vera Clifford Smith Akridge. Doris grew up in Tallahassee and graduated from Leon High in 1947. She was President of the DCT club at Leon. In 1948 she married her high school sweetheart, Franklin Edward Willis, Jr., President of the TEC club at Leon High. She was co-owner with Edward of the Willis Dairy where she was the bookkeeper and sales lady for the drive-thru. After the dairy closed, she and Edward started Willis Builders, Inc. and Willis Land Company, Inc.. She is survived by her son, Franklin Edward Willis, III, and daughters, Carol Nims Trotman and Becky Phinney Stallworth. She is survived by her grandchildren and great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Edward Willis, Jr; sisters, Virginia Cullifer and Bernice Saunders. The graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 9:00 am at Oakland Cemetery in Tallahassee.
