Dorothy Mae Peterson, 88, passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 in Monticello, Florida.
A native of Boone, Iowa, she was a longtime resident of Titusville, Florida and moved to Monticello three years ago. She had owned and operated a cab company in Titusville and was active in the Moose Lodge there. Dorothy loved to sew and was know for her embroidery work.
She is survived by her three sons, LaDean "Pete" and Jacqueline Peterson of Monticello, Geraldean and Carmen Peterson of St. Petersburg and Jaydean Peterson of Titusville; her daughter, Nadine L. Ritchie and her husband Tom of Bardstown, Kentucky; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012 in the chapel of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, Florida. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Research.
