Douglas M. Fitton, 57, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on Friday, February 5th, 2021. Doug served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Damage Controlman and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. A graduate of the University of Minnesota at Duluth, Doug worked in the environmental field for many years. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Kelly Muga Fitton, his son Ian Fitton (Katie Ruane), his daughter Chelsea Bassett (Matthew), and his granddaughter Evangeline Grace Bassett, as well as his mother, Joan Lemire (Tom Bindrim), sister Susan Fitton (Tony Sule), brother Paul Fitton (Nancy) and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Pamela Jill Stephens and his father Steven Fitton.
Doug will be inurned at the Tallahassee National Cemetery. Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
