I was in the Army and stationed in Germany with an Ernie Barany.
I see he was buried with military honors so was wondering if it was the same Ernie?

If it is I wish I would have tried to contact him earlier.

So sorry to hear of Ernie’s passing.  I had the privilege of working with Ernie for many years.  He was funny, intelligent, and helped keep me sane when the office was going crazy.  I saw Ernie only once after I retired and regret we didn’t get to visit more.    My deepest condolences to Susie,  Ernie’s family and friends on this loss.

"EB" you were definitely a "Stand Up" guy who was adored and cherished by your loved ones.  I appreciate your kind heart and witty since of humor.  It was an honor to share the memories we did together at the corvette show, commemorating you and Sue's marriage in 2018, and seeing you when I stopped by the house from time to time to see your Susie Q.  Commemorating your marriage was a blessing and I appreciated you allowing me to do so...Rest In Peace My Dear Friend...Susie Q is in good hands. This loss was a hard pill for her to swallow but I got her and I will always be here to support her and be a shoulder for her to lean on.

I'm sorry I didn't get to see you again and say goodbye. You were always loved. 

Goodbye, farewell dear neighbor. You are who we flocked to to ask for advice when things in our neighborhood were not what they should. We’ll miss your flashy car, your daily trek to fetch mail and insightful comments.  May you rest in peace. 

It was terribly sad news to learn of my brother's passing. Closest in age, Ernie was my childhood pal, my friend.  Although many miles away, I was happy that he found a rewarding life in Florida.
Yet there was always that part of me that missed him and wished for more family time. Rest in peace, dear Brother.

Shown here is a photo of Ernie’s brothers Charles on the left and Matthew on the right.  Ernie’s mother used to put the boys in harnesses when they were this size and Ernie would walk them like dogs.  He always took care of his little brothers.

This photograph is of Ernie’s two sisters (and me). on the left is Gail, and on the right is Linda. Ernie was always very proud of his two beautiful sisters.

We are going to miss our brother very much.  We are all very proud of his honorable military service to the country he loved so much.

Ernie relocated to Florida from New Jersey 40+ years ago, and therefore, visits were infrequent.   But there was always a place in Florida for any of us to stay.  He always welcomed us there.  It was always very good to see him.

No one is prepared to hear about the passing of a loved one. We are a close family, and we all have great love for each other.  There is a hole in our family now.  

We grieve for his family left behind.  We will continue to lift Susie, Nina, and Lorraine in our prayers.   We pray that God will comfort all of us in this time of profound loss.  It is said that if you only hurt a little, it is because you only love a little.  If you hurt much, it is because you love much.  We hurt very much.  

I will miss you, big brother.  Godspeed.




I have only the fondest memories of Ernie. He was such a kind and caring neighbor.  He always had a smile and friendly manner.  My deepest sympathy to Susie and his family.   Angie Marky
