Evelyn Victoria Lux passed away peacefully July 25 at Capital Regional Medical Center after a brief illness, with her sons Kenneth Lux and Donald Lux by her side. She is survived by her two sons, and grandson Dane Lux. She was predeceased by her husband Edward Lux in 1991.
Evelyn was born in Brooklyn New York November 9, 1921, moved to South Florida in 1969, and then to Tallahassee in 1994.
She and Edward traveled the world extensively during the time they were based in Saudi Arabia with Pratt-Whitney Aircraft in the 1970’s and took thousands of photos of their exotic destinations.
After moving to Tallahassee, she became a volunteer at what was at the time Tallahassee Community Hospital, working several days a week. She was on the volunteer council, and the group of volunteers became the center of her life. She continued to volunteer on a limited basis until just 8 weeks ago, and it continued to be a driving force in keeping her active.
She will be missed.
A celebration of life will be held at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Wednesday July 29 from 2 pm to 4 pm.
