Always a proud "Yankee", she was born November 30, 1924 in Providence, Rhode Island. In 1946, she made Tallahassee her home with her beloved husband Ben. She was a nurturing mother, confidant to her grandchildren and the soul of her family.
Mourning her passing and left to cherish memories of her children Cheryl Dula and Barbara Zeigler of Tallahassee, Ted Tharpe and wife Deidre of Sevierville, Tennessee and Bill Tharpe and wife Renee of High Springs, Florida: Six grandchildren, Brian (Joy) Dula, Stephanie Dula (David Klein),Stephen Dula, Sarah Ziegler, Jared (Kelli) Tharpe, three great-grandchildren Andrew and Michael Dula and Riley Caroline Tharpe; and sister Gladys Martin of East Greenwich, Rhode Island. Beside her children she leaves a step-son Richard Tharpe and family and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ben Tharpe, her parents Otto Robert and Gertrude (Megathlin) Haid, and siblings Roberta Miller, Richard Haid and Clifton Haid. At her request, services will be private.
