Frank Montalbano, III, age 73, of Tallahassee, Florida, died Wednesday, November 17, 2021, in Beaumont, Texas. He was born March 6, 1948, to Tommie Ruth Messer and Frank Montalbano, Jr. in Beaumont, Texas. Frank was a proud graduate of Texas A & M University class of 1970 and a United States Air Force Veteran.
He was a certified wildlife biologist for Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission for 32 years, retiring in 2006.
One of his greatest pleasures was hunting ducks, geese, doves, and deer, and he was getting his hunting camp at LaBelle, Texas, ready for duck season when he passed away. He was a masterful labrador retriever trainer from his first dog to his last dog, Aggie.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Steinman Montalbano; his children Tom Montalbano (Tricia) of Tallahassee, Florida; Robbie Montalbano also of Tallahassee; and beloved yellow lab Aggie (Yellow Rose of Aggieland); also Anne’s children Brian Meter of Oak Park, Michigan; Christopher Meter (Cameron) of Seattle, Washington; and Elizabeth Meter Smith (Bryan) of Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan; seven grandchildren Summer, Brian, Riley, Lucille, Marietta, Brooklyn, and Frankie. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his first wife, Nancy Ann Silcox Montalbano.
He is also survived by his brother Tom Montalbano (Gail) of Lumberton, Texas; and sister Diana Braquet (Brian) of Tyler, Texas; and many Montalbano and Messer cousins.
Funeral Mass will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Tallahassee, Florida, on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 11:00 AM, with reception to follow at Good Shepherd. There will be a graveside service for the family at Culley’s MeadowWood Memorial Park the same day.
