Gerald Moore Carroll

It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Gerald M. Carroll (Jerry), who peacefully left this world, surrounded by his family, on March 16, 2025, in Tallahassee, Florida.

Jerry was born in Ozark, Alabama on January 25, 1935, to the parents of Joe and Lutie Carroll. He grew up on a farm and often spent time with his adorned mother, at her restaurant. After graduating from high school, Jerry moved to “The City” (Tallahassee, Florida), with a dream to build his career and start a family. Tallahassee would become Jerry’s home, where he was drafted into the Army, attended college, began his career in the Auto Mechanic industry, met and married the love of his life, Judith K. Jones (Judy), and raised his family.

Jerry, commonly referred to as “Papa”, was a simple man, known for his big heart and unstoppable work ethic. When he wasn’t working, Jerry spent his time loving and leading his family and could always be found with his wife, cheering on his grandchildren. He enjoyed riding his tractor, playing golf, and hanging out with his Wednesday Morning Breakfast Crew. He humbly paved the way for his family to be fruitful and often used his quick wit to get his point across to his loved ones. His laughter was infectious, and his perseverance will live on through the hearts and lives that he touched so deeply.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Carroll, sons, Jed (Gigi) Carroll and Joel (Meredith) Carroll, daughter, Jennifer Hirst, eight grandchildren, sister, Judith Donohoo (Ozark, Alabama), and sister-in-law, Janice Harbeson, (Jacksonville, Florida). Jerry recently celebrated his 90th birthday with family and friends and his 60th wedding anniversary to his devoted love, Judy.
