Gwen was born In Southport, England on November 8, 1931 to Gwendoline and Fenton Walton. She immigrated to the United States in 1950 to marry her late ex-husband, Alvin Morden who she met in Warrington, England while he was stationed there with the United States Air Force. She worked as a bookkeeper in the Chicago area until 1978 when she transferred to Savannah, Georgia and ultimately retired to be near her family in Tallahassee, Florida in 2000.
Gwen enjoyed reading, bridge and spending time with her family and friends. She was an excellent cook and loved to travel.
Gwen was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her son, John (Sue) Morden and their three children Katy (Tyler) Sirois, Ben (Maddie) Morden, Sarah Morden and her three grandchildren, Emma Kate Sirois, John (Jack) Sirois and Bobby Fox Morden. She is also survived by her sisters Anne Lomax and Linda (John) Ince and one brother John (Anne) Walton and many nieces and nephews who reside in England.
In keeping with her wishes no formal services will be held. An informal celebration of life will be announced and held later this fall.
