He was born on May 28,1921 to Pearl Warren Boswell and John Will Boswell. He was Captain of the Columbus, Ga. High Football team. His father was a Georgia railroad engineer and Harry spent
many years firing coal on his trains. He majored in engineering at Georgia Tech then
transferred to Marion Military Institute in order to become an Air Force pilot.
He enlisted to fight in WW2 and with his leadership qualities he was selected to captain a B-29
bomber. He lead 16 successful bombing missions over Japan. After the war he married
Mary Elizabeth McBride of Orlando and earned a Law degree at Stetson University. In
1969, they moved to Tallahasse with their four children.
He worked as a Lawyer at the Florida Public Service Commission until retiring in 1986. He is survived by his 4 children, John Boswell in New York, Mark Boswell in Germany, Sally Burkhalter in
Greenville, SC and Thomas Boswell in Orlando, Fl. He was preceded in death by his
beloved wife of 67 years, Mary McBride Boswell.
