James was born in Tallahassee and made his home in Thomasville, Georgia. He was a member of Church of Ablaze in Ochlocknee, Georgia. He loved to work in his yard and care for his flowers. He enjoyed helping other people.
Graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Aenon Church Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Cleveland McCormick and Mary Linda Sneden Cole McCormick; his sister, Laverne McCormick Howard; and his daughter, Lisa Ann McCormick.
He is survived by his son, James Cleveland McCormick Jr.; a daughter, Shelia Kay Lovvorn; two sisters, Mae Cole Heuring and Jeanie McCormick Batten; and her husband, Jimmy Ray; and his aunt, Sarah Cole Sneden; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
