Born on March 10, 1947, in Valdosta, Georgia, Sergeant Barnes honorably served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was known for his strong work ethic and deep love of the outdoors. Jay was cherished by many and deeply loved in return.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Susan Barnes; his children, Jennifer Bombgardner, Andrew Barnes, Heather Juarez, Shawn Moon, Audrey Godin, and Daniel Godin; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, June 2nd, at the Tallahassee National Cemetery.
