
Jean Marguerite (Fish) Dixon, 96, of Tallahassee died Monday (11/16). Jean was born on January 25, 1919 to George and Ethel Fish in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She came into the world just before her fraternal twin Helen. Jean grew up with her two siblings Helen and David “Bud” in Spokane, Washington.
Jean’s life completely changed when she met and married Army Air Corp fighter pilot, Jacob Dixon. Jean experienced many exciting, difficult and rewarding times being the wife of a Col. In the Air Force during war and peace time.
The couple retired in Panama City where she took up oil painting, and became quite good. Jean enjoyed working for Bay Memorial Hospital as a volunteer “pink lady” for over 30 years. She enjoyed her military friends, golf games, fishing, boating and being with her family. Jean was a strong, loving mother for her family and grandchildren.
Jean was preceded by her husband, Jacob W. Dixon of 63 years of marriage, and her brother, David Mason Fish. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela J. Kugler, son-in-law, Robert J. Kugler, her grandchild, Deborah Diehl (James), great grandson Simon Diehl, grandchild Christine Herzog, (John) great grandsons, Joseph Herzog, Andrew Herzog, Jacob Herzog, great granddaughter, Elizabeth Herzog, and her twin sister, Helen Marion Erickson, and her nieces, Paula Sue Verardo, (John), Cara Leigh Hanes (Ron), Dee Dee Riccio (Tony) nephew Peter Erickson and grandnieces.
