

Born in Allentown, PA, Jean graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cedar Crest College. Shortly after graduation she completed Officer Candidate School training for the United States Women’s Army Corps. It was during that time that she met her future husband, John Winters, from Brooklyn, NY. After being discharged, they were married and settled on Long Island. At retirement, the couple moved to the Florida Keys. When John passed away, Jean moved to Homestead, Florida and lived there for over twenty years. She made Tallahassee her home in 2007.
Jean is survived by her son, John Winters (Joyce) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two daughters, Joan Reynolds (Steve) of Chicago, IL and Marie Bain of Tallahassee; four grandchildren, Patrick and Sean Reynolds and Jessica and Jonathan Winters, and two great-grandchildren, Korbyn Byrd and Serenity Mayfield.
A memorial service and celebration of Jean’s life will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 18, 2013, in the Riggins Road Chapel of Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, Florida 32308 or a Hospice of your choice in Jean’s memory.
