

Joan was born in the Bronx, New York on January 1, 1931 to William A. and Agnes M. (Reiss) Weber.
Joan was married to Andrew (Andy) Dunsmore Simpson on April 9, 1950 in Saint Albans, New York; they were married 40 years.
Joan was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In her spare time she had worked as a dental assistant, statistician, clerk, teacher’s aide, and baker. In keeping up with her two daughters she had been a Brownie Leader and a Girl Scout Leader, She enjoyed knitting and quilting and had decorated several wedding cakes for family weddings. Joan was a member of the Epiphany Lutheran Church for 22 years assisting various church events. She was also actively involved in several quilt and sewing groups.
Joan is survived by two daughters, Gail Chase and Jill Snow of Tallahassee; twin sister, Jean Seeley of Seneca, South Carolina; three grandchildren: Scott Chase of Gainesville, Christa Arrington and Amy Snow, both of Tallahassee; four great-grandchildren, and other family and friends.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband Andy, grandson Andrew Thompson and sister, Evelyn Beckerich.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 7th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Culley’s MeadowWood Riggins Road Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 8th at 3:00 pm at Epiphany Lutheran Church - 8300 Deerlake Road
Tallahassee, Florida. Pastor Mark Schulz will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Tallahassee Memory Gardens
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Leon County Animal Shelter, American Heart Association, American Lung Association, or a Church of your choice.
