

John David Forster, 81, passed away Monday, December 6, 2010 in Tallahassee, Florida. Funeral service will be held 4:00 pm Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home 1737 Riggins Road.
John was born February 20, 1929 in Enniskilen, Northern Ireland. He received his degree in Pharmacy from the College of Pharmacy in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1952. In May of 1953 he moved to Canada where he was a Pharmacist until he was hired by Parke-Davis in 1956. In 1960 he moved to Australia and sold Pharmaceuticals for Wyeth Medical Group. In 1962 he decided to travel the world and became a tour guide for Kangaroo Travel so that he could travel throughout Europe and Russia.
He returned to Canada and continued his Pharmaceutical sales career. He met and married Dagmar Gray in 1965. He was very active in sports and was head of the Canadian National Badminton Association in 1970 taking them all the way to Malaysia in addition to coaching children.
In the early 1980’s he moved from Toronto to Salem, Massachusetts and worked for Concord Portex selling Neurosurgical supplies. This career took him to Keene, New Hampshire and then to Ft Myers, Florida where he ultimately retired as Vice President of the Neurosurgical Division.
John moved to Tallahassee in 2001 to be close to family. He is survived by his former wife Dagmar Fisher, his daughter Paula Kathleen Kendrick, his granddaughters Kathleen “Nikki” Kendrick and Kaitlyn “Kacie” Kendrick, his brother George Dawson Forster of Tortola, B.V.I and a sister Iris Yvonne Birch and her husband Philip Birch and many nieces and nephews. He was much loved by his family, caregivers and nurses.
