Joseph L. Musumeci, 98, passed away July 14, 2016 in Tallahassee, Florida. He was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on September 19, 1917, to the late Carmela (Bruno) and Luigi Musumeci. Upon graduating from Beverly High School, he worked in his father’s bakery until he relocated to Baltimore. Here he met and, in 1940, married his wife, Julie La Quanti. After the war, Joe worked for electronic firms in Massachusetts as a foreman overseeing and managing production.
Joe and Julie raised two daughters, Judy Renwick and Margaret Hoganson. In 1979 they retired to Florida where they enjoyed playing golf, dancing and getting together with friends. In 2007, after the death of his second wife Pauline (Wright), Joe moved to Tallahassee to be with Judy and her family. He became an active member in Good Shepard Church finding great joy and purpose as a communion minister. He enjoyed golf, painting, model ship building, gardening, the beach and the companionship of his dog, Dixie. Joe cared deeply for his faith, country and family. He was a kind, generous man who will be greatly missed. Joseph is survived by daughters, Judy Renwick and Margaret Hoganson; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives, two sisters and two brothers.
