

She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, H. Jay Mottice.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 18, at 11 a.m. at Wildwood Presbyterian Church with burial at Oakland Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 17 at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral home, Riggins Road Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Street Missions Uganda, 100 Ox Bottom Road, Tallahassee, Florida, 32312.
Kathleen (Kathy) was born in Chesterfield County, Virginia to Gideon Johnson and Elizabeth Sangster Hagood; the seventh of thirteen children. She graduated from the Richmond Professional Institute of the College of William and Mary in 1951. She met her husband, Jay, while both were working for the Central Intelligence Agency in Washing ton, D.C. and married in 1955. After Jay completed his education in Ohio, they moved to Tallahassee in 1964 where Jay joined the faculty at F.S.U. and they raised their three children. She was active in her church and community and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Other survivors include daughter, Kristy Davis (and husband, Bill); son, John Mottice (and wife, Gwen) of Tallahassee; daughter, Linda Sayler (and husband, Jack) of Birmingham, Alabama; grandchildren, Kathryn Davis, John Gideon Mottice and David Mottice of Tallahassee and Kathleen Sayler, Jack Sayler and Sam Sayler of Birmingham, Alabama; brother, John Hagood; sisters, Martha Thompson, Judy Aliotti, Lyndal Atherton and Patty Miller of Richmond, Virginia; sister, Ann Berberian of Cary, North Carolina; sister, Peggy Wheless of Fredericksburg, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by brothers Gid Hagood, Jimmy Hagood and Buddy Hagood and sisters Nancy Baker and Betty Utley.
Arrangements are under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Tallahassee, FL.
