

A native of Chicago, Illinois, where Lois met her husband, Leon B. Friedman. They were married in Kalamazoo, MI and raised three children.
In 1974 they moved to Tallahassee acquiring an existing business. Today, Leon Iron & Metal continues as fifth generation thriving business.
Lois was active in the Jewish community and held numerous positions with Temple Israel Sisterhood, Jewish Federation, B’nai Brith, Hadassah and Shomrei Torah. She loved social activities and participated in Springtime Tallahassee for many years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years, Leon B. Friedman, her mother Ethel L. Rose, and father Arnold Rose. She is survived by her three children Sheri A. Friedman of Bozeman, MT; Marc D. Friedman of Tallahassee; Audrey F. McGeorge (William) of Atlanta; granddaughter Elana Epstein (Yaacov Yisrael) of Boston, MA; granddaughter Iris Schaer of Boston, MA; grandson Samuel Schaer of Tallahassee; and beloved great-granddaughter Lielle Epstein of Boston, MA.
She is also survived by her niece Nina Friedman Neish (Steve) and nephew Gregg Friedman, both of Texas, and numerous cousins.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the many friends and caregivers who supported Lois through her final years. The Jewish community has lost a beloved member, patron, and volunteer. May her memory be a blessing.
The service was held at Roselawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Shomrei Torah in Tallahassee.
