
Marie was born in Nassau, Bahamas on January 2nd, 1943 to Hugh and Merle Albury. She spent her childhood by the beach with her friends and her twin brother.
Shortly after graduating from high school, Marie began working as a flight attendant, beginning a lifelong career in the airline industry. She briefly left work to raise her children, returning later to work for Bahamas Air. At the time of her retirement, she had worked her way up to management.
She married Bruce Richterkessing in Nassau, Bahamas in 1965 and gave birth to their first child in 1966. They would later relocate to the United States and go on to have two more children. Though they separated, they remained good friends for life.
Marie was a loving matriarch to her family and spent much of her time caring for her grandchildren. She is remembered by her family for being kind, funny, creative, and good-spirited.
She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Jesse and brothers, Brian (Rosie) and Michael.
She is survived by her children, Dwight (Alyce) and Christina (Doug); daughter-in-law Gina; grandchildren, Brandi (Hunter), Holli, Emma, Andrew, Madison, Joshua and Jacob; great-granddaughter Jessi; niece and nephew Karen and Keith as well as extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Marie was a great advocate of cancer research for children and had donated to the cause for many years.
