Marina Haldas died peacefully at home on September 25, 2022, in Tallahassee, Florida, at the age of 92. Marina Haldas is survived by her daughter, Luci Brown, grandson, Savoy Brown and granddaughter, Shanna Brown. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Haldas.
Marina was born in Manila, Philippines in 1930. After WWII, she met her first husband, Charles Boone, who was enlisted in the military service and stationed at Clark Air Force Base. Marina met her second husband, Eugene Haldas, while working for the Federal Aviation Agency in Los Angeles, California. Marina’s child, grandchildren and great grandchildren remember her as hosting numerous holiday get-togethers, and being a quiet, thoughtful and insightful matriarch of the family.
Marina was accomplished as a Master Gardner, and was a member of the Camilla Club. She also was a talented watercolor artist selling her first piece in her 80’s. Marina was fortunate to also be extremely well traveled, visiting numerous countries on every continent. Marina believed in civic duty and often volunteered as a poll worker during elections.
A funeral is scheduled for Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Culley’s Meadowood Funeral Home & Memorial Park located at 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida. Father Boat will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marina’s life.
