Mary Frances Spears died June 12, 2013, in Tallahassee, Florida.
She was born in Panama City, Florida, on January 09, 1942. She was the daughter of Charlie and Dorene Bailey Spears.
Frances earned a BS degree in nursing from Florida State University in 1971. She served as a nurse, nursing supervisor and nursing administrator at Tallahassee Regional Medical Center. She retired in 1995 as Director of Nursing Administration.
For many years, Frances gave generously of her time, talent, treasure and love in support of the Children's Haiti Medical Mission. Along with other local medical professionals, she traveled to Haiti to treat countless impoverished children and boasted of gaining far more than she gave. The trips over Goat Mountain were a treasured memory.
She is survived by her sister, Patricia F. Spears and her sister's partner; and Frances' dear friend, Joan D. Leggitt.
The family will receive family and friends from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, June 18th at Culley's Meadow Wood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice.
