Melanie Elaine Newman (Harriet V. Jordan), a loving sister, daughter and aunt passed away on October 1, 2014 at the age of 71. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Alry Gunn Jordan, III and Mary Ettie Gay Jordan; her sister, Dorothy Jordan Boynton; and her infant brother Alry Gunn Jordan, IV.
Melanie was born on December 21, 1942 and was a lifelong resident of Tallahassee. She was loved by all who knew her due to her humor, kindness and loving heart. She was a lover of country music, family and her beloved cats, Sugar Man, Rosie and Goldie.
She is survived by a sister Alva Belser (Gene Sr.); nephews John Boynton (Noreen), James Alry Boynton (Marcia), Gene L. Belser, Sr. (Teri) and a niece Paula Belser in addition to numerous great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a Visitation which will take place on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home at 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, FL 32308, at 10:00 am followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00am. The service will be officiated by Reverend Charles Stephens (Annette). Committal services will immediately follow at Oakland Cemetery, Tallahassee, FL.
