Minel Cordozo Borges, 70, ended his valiant battle with illness on August 9, 2012.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, August 17, 2012 in Culley’s MeadowWood Timberlane Road Chapel, 700 Timberlane Road.
Minel is survived by his wife of 20 years, Elizabeth P. Borges; a daughter, Marcie J. Borges; step-son, Ryan Lobato; sister, Lotus Post (husband George) of Birmingham, AL; three grandchildren, Joshua, Kandi and Megan; and two great-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews.
Minel was employed for many years and retired from the Department of Education. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was gifted with a bright intellect and spirituality. An avid reader, he had a great love for nature and all its beauty. He was an avid sports fan, especially baseball. He will be missed by all who loved him, but he will never be far from us in spirit.
