

Nancy Jo Harrison, 69, was born August 12, 1944 In Franklin, Indiana, Johnson County Hospital, and passed away November 20, 2013, Tallahassee, Florida. She was married to Sterling “Buddy” Harrison, June 3, 1978 at Ochlocknee River State Park, Sopchoppy, Florida
Nancy graduated Whiteland High School, Class of 1962, and did her continuing education at Tallahassee Community College. She retired after 35+ years with FDLE, and became a Mary Kay consultant/dealer. She was an avid advocate of trap, neuter, & release programs for feral cats, Vice President of Its Meow or Never (IMON), Animal Aid Spay & Neuter Center, & local Humane Society.
Nancy was the rock of our family, the center- beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and always friend to so many. She lived life! Her caring nature drove her to get involved in animal rights. One of her favorite spots Mexico Beach, FL was a regular family retreat. “Take care of family first” was a frequent saying. Her leadership abilities and friendliness made her a success with Mary Kay.

Grandchildren: Jessica Manis, Hensley Harrison, Skyler Harrison, Joshua Manis, Mary Lyda Harrison, Kristie Jo Manis, all of Tallahassee, FL She was predeceased by son, Blanchard D. Harrison, Tallahassee, FL, Parents: Betty J. & Frank Cox, Tallahassee, FL, & niece: Robin Ann Stinson.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM, Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Culley’S MeadowWood Funeral Home, Riggins Road Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00PM, Monday, at Culley’s MeadowWood, Riggins Road, with interment to follow at Tallahassee Memory Gardens.
