

Noella Charron Simpson, 92, of Tallahassee, a homemaker who worked outside of the home off and on as a bookkeeper, doctor’s assistant, and administrative assistant, died at home, attended by her daughter Louise and son Richard, on Thursday morning, February 16, 2017. She was an active parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the ladies’ circle there. She also was an active member of two bridge clubs until recently.
The funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2017, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial at Roselawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2017, at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, Riggins Road Chapel; a liturgy and rosary will follow.
She was born in Holyoke, MA on Christmas Day 1924 and lived in various places in New England, South Florida (Ponce De Leon Senior High, 1942), during WWII in Springfield, MA, and then in Glengarry, West Virginia until she was married to Eugene B. Simpson of Miami on April 30, 1946 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Martinsburg, WV. They moved to South Florida and lived in South Miami until January 1987, raising six children there, when they moved to Tallahassee.
She was predeceased by Eugene, her husband of 56 years, in 2002. She is survived by her brother Jean Paul Charron (Groveland) and sister Gracia Smalley (South Miami); six children, Richard (Ruby), Upland, CA, Nancy Plummer, Sarasota, Louise McDonald (Bruce), Pensacola, Karen Gerold (Thomas), Sandusky OH, Thomas, Virginia Beach, VA, and Linda Maupin, Tallahassee; 11 grandchildren: Jennifer Mooney (Co. Donegal, Ireland), Richard C. Simpson (Pleasanton, CA), Patrick Plummer (Arvada, CO), Carrie Cheshire (Portland, OR), Kate Weston and Keira McDonald (Pensacola), Kevin McDonald (Fairfield, CT), Michael McDonald (Wrightstown, PA), Mary Grace Titus (Pittsburgh, PA), Andrew Gerold (Sandusky, OH), and Alicia Leeper, (Columbus, IN); and 18 great-grandchildren: Sorcha Mooney, Muireann Mooney, Lonan Mooney, Iosold Mooney, Noah Simpson, Ian Simpson, Nathan Simpson, Dallas Cheshire, Zachary Weston, Dylan Weston, Kendal Weston, Steven McDonald, Wesley McDonald, Edie McDonald, Seth McDonald, Susannah McDonald, Nathan McDonald, and Weylin Titus.
