Richard (Rich) Gene Robertson born April 2, 1943 in Springfield, Illinois to Henry Allen Robertson and Ada Ellen Landreth Robertson died peacefully in his home after an extended illness December 1, 2012. Rich graduated from Lamphier High School in 1961 where he excelled academically, as well as, in baseball. After graduation he joined the Air Force and served his country from 1961-1965. He returned to Springfield where he began his career in the power plant industry. He relocated to FL in 1980 where he held administrative positions at both Hopkins Power Plant and Purdam. He retired in 2000 after 13yrs with the City of Tallahassee.
Those that had the privilege of knowing Rich knew that he was a 110% kind of man. His love of hunting and fishing was more than just a hobby. He bred, raised and trained bird dogs for his, and others’ pleasure. He was an avid craftsman who received more pleasure giving his creations to others than keeping for himself. If he wasn’t in his woodshop then you may find him dancing which is how he met the love of his life, MaryLee Register Robertson. They were able to share 22years together.
Rich is survived by his wife MaryLee Register Robertson, son, Steven Patrick Robertson (Meredith) of Lake Springfield, Missouri, step children Donia Norman, Tallahassee, Eliza Witmer (Buddy) Tallahassee, Taylor Bulloch of Orlando, MaryGrace Crosby (Craig) Tallahassee and Lee Bulloch of Marianna. He had 3 grandchildren and 13 step grandchildren. Rich is also survived by his very close and devoted friend of 25yrs, Tim Majors and his wife Andrea, Tallahassee.
